Is it time to refresh your Social Media?

Can you remember the last time you gave your social media profiles a much-needed makeover? Social media is constantly changing, and businesses that aren’t up-to-speed are bound to fall behind. Just like an updated website or a new marketing campaign, a fresh look can breathe new life into your social profile. Check-out these 5 tips to refreshing your social profile:

1. Make sure your username is consistent across all channels.
If you are @jameslordcreative on Twitter and Facebook, then make sure the name of your account is @jameslordcreative on Instagram as well. We also recommend creating a domain name and e-mail address with that username as well to further promote your brand.

2. Optimize your Bio

When new users land on your page, you want to make it explicitly clear who you are and what your brand is about. On Instagram specifically, there is limited space before your bio gets cut off. When optimizing your social media profiles, try using a combination of key words, value propositions and your brand mission. It can be helpful to benchmark competitors’ accounts as well.

3. Create a coherent layout, look and feel for your page.

Plan a specific color palette each month or use the same filters and editing tools on all photos to create a consistent look for your brand. We’re not saying that all photos need to look exactly the same, but the goal is for people to go to your page and recognize your brand.

4. Include a Call to Action
There should always be an active call to action in your about section or bio, but don’t be afraid to change it to align with a short-term campaign. You can change the call to action whenever your needs change. We recommend creating a Linktree that can be updated and added as your marketing campaigns change.

5.  Make sure your refresh aligns and supports your other marketing efforts.
Consider refreshing your page seasonally or even monthly if it aligns with your marketing efforts. Maybe your quarterly focus is on a new product or season. You can align your refresh with your campaign changes to create a cohesive look and strategy.

Refreshing your social media profiles will help keep users interested in visiting your page. It will also allow you to amplify your messages and goals on a consistent basis. Have questions on how to best refresh your pages? Contact our team for a free consultation today!
